Dave Faloon - Founder, Programming Arts.
 

Dave Faloon is a developer, project manager, and consultant with more than 15 years industry experience.

He began his career in the early 1990s at the Institute for the Learning Sciences at Northwestern University outside Chicago. There he built multimedia training and education systems for both Chicago-area clients (Ameritech, Chicago Public Schools) and international clients (Anderson Consulting, Northwest Water of Wales). In 1996 he moved to Austin, Texas and began programming work for companies such as Sicola Martin, Cortex Communications, and Human Code. In the spring of 1998, he left Human Code to start Programming Arts.

Dave has also worked as a Senior Producer for Ignite Learning, Senior Project Manager for Fusion Learning Systems, and as Director of Software Development for PCI Educational Publishing.

He has worked on hundreds of projects ranging from nationally distributed edutainment titles (‘School House Rock’ and Richard Scary’s ‘Busytown’ CD ROMs) to web sites for law firms (Brown McCarroll and Van Osselaer, Cronin, & Buchanan). Other projects have included Fortune 500 companies such as Dell, Compaq, and Canon.

Dave often works with Austin-based companies such as Planet Texas Studios, FG2, Melito Kagan, and HLR-Illustration to provide programming, project management, and consulting services.

He has also worked as an instructor at Austin Community College, teaching classes in 2-D Animation (Flash) and 2-D Interface Design (Photoshop, Director, Flash). He was also a panel speaker at the 2000 SXSW Interactive Conference.
